Costa Rica participates in New York’s food fair

The culinary offer of the country is one of the most attractive details when tourists visit Costa Rica.
The quality of foodstuffs in Costa Rica has earned the opportunity of exporting their crops to hundreds of countries around the world.
On this occasion the Central American country which makes present at the fair "Fancy Food Show" in New York City, which gave home this Sunday, June 30, and it will be extended until July 2.
The activity of the "Fancy Food Show" is one of the events with greater significance in the food industry around the world, is ranked as one of the most important showcases so that companies that are able to participate can strengthen new partnerships, contacts and future business opportunities.

The foreign trade promoter also emphasized that there is an interest of Costa Rican local producers to be able to exhibit in this space products that are potentially marketed in the United States and other destinations, highlighting innovation and sophistication that offers consumers.
Álvaro Piedra, Manager of commercial promotion of PROCOMER, emphasized that there is an opportunity for the Costa Rican exporters are aware of trends in improvement and innovation for their own products during this event.
"Take part in this fair, that is specialized and one of the most important in the food industry in the world, means one more opportunity to make known the quality and sophistication of Costa Rican products", said stone.
Costa Rica is participating in the fair with different foodstuffs, especially snacks or sandwiches, chips of fruits and vegetables, pasta, hearts of Palm, coffee and products dairy.
Data from the food industry in Costa Rica exports are positive, this branch exported 1 390 million dollars to 90 destinations around the world in 2012. Major export products include food preparations, juices, fruits, sauces and palm oil concentrates.

Costa Rica carried out its first export of dairy products to China

This week was the first shipment of milk 100% Costa Rican Asian giant: China. The cooperative of producers of milk two pines R.L is intended to publicize their products in a very different market than the national, on the other side of the world.

This first shipment went to Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Tianjing.

Based on that level of response we will begin a process of geographic coverage and brand development in China, which undoubtedly opens a window of opportunity for cities such as Hong Kong and Macau and other Asia countries such as Singapore, with which Costa Rica has a free Trade” said Jorge Pattoni, general manager of Dos Pinos.
The plan is that Dos Pinos starts exporting butter, juices and nectar before end of the year.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Agriculture of Costa Rica, Gloria Abraham said that: "the achievement of the two pine trees is a firm step in the process of inserting our companies and food producers in a market as big as China, whose authorities have expressed interest in significantly increasing the levels of marketing with our countries. We will continue to support our sector in this goal through our animal health services and we are confident that in a short time, not only the Dos Pinos increase your sales and strengthen a niche in that huge market, but it we can announce the entry of other origin products agriculture, like pineapple, melon and meat".
A challenge for Costa Ricans is the good management of marketing in China, there is a varied competition, with products from other parts of the world. Two pine trees should work in that Chinese citizens will be able to identify with the brand.
